Prof. Dr. Gustavo Giménez (English version)

(INTI – Micro y Nanotecnologias, Departamento de Micro y Nanofabricación)

Topic: Transport phenomena in mesoporous thin films and their application on electrochemical sensors.

This presentation will show the progress on the application of nanotechnology in the field of permeo-selective electrochemical sensors, taking into account the combination of bottom-up and top-down processes, the transport phenomena that take place within the films, chemical stability of sensors, manufacturing scaling and transfer to industry. In addition, results obtained in the manufacture of sensor arrays based on gold electrodes coated with selective, chemically stable, reproducible and easily functional mesoporous thin films will be shown.

Summary Background

Gustavo Giménez obtained his Master degree and Doctoral degree of Chemistry from the Faculty of Exact Science of the University of Buenos Aires (UBA). Director of the FIB Microscopy Laboratory of the INTI Micro and Nanoelectronics Center, advisory member of the National Microscopy System. It specializes in the field of ‘bottom-up / top-down’ integration for the manufacture of nanotechnological-based devices, especially electrochemical sensors.
